TIME Magazine headline kickstarting their coverage of The World Cup.
The Official Kick-Off event being broadcast live on the internet.
In the second group G match in the ongoing World Cup, North Korea not only managed to hold Brazil to 0-0 in the first half, but managed to scare the Brazilians throughout the game. The 2-1 scoreline is an apt representation of the quality of game showed by both the sides.
It might have taken all their concentration power, but DPRK have shown what is possible with purity of intent.
Indian soccer, on the other hand keeps hiding behind allegations of capriciousness of the administration or the lack of infrastructure. While the North Korean administration is one of the world’s worst example of mal-administration, and Brazil too being in almost the same league as India in terms of infrastructure, the jokers running the show in India are clearly putting in an apology for an effort.
Suppose there’s a game between team A and B. During a move, a player of team A is injured (by whatever means) and team B is in possession of the ball. Team B, more often than not, kicks the ball out of play. And, if the referee announces a dead start, team A is allowed to touch the ball first (by the team B player staying away), and the team A player in turn kicks it out of play too, so that the ball goes back to team B’s possession.
FIFA rule book says, “In case there is an injury without any fault, game must go on unless referee blows the whistle (in case of severe injury, for example)”.
